Life is.....

Strange. No seriously, it actually is. These past few years have been a struggle for me in terms of self-discovery, growth, and empowerment....

In the final months of 2016, we sold our old house in Fresno and finally moved to the Bay area. Not San Francisco Bay but Monterey. Since then my family has been busy trying to cope with the loss of several of our furbaby family members. Our American Indian dog of 15 years, Koko, passed away from a degenerative paralysis disease and we couldn't let her suffer anymore. A few months later, I had to put down my 5-year-old American Shorthair, Morgan, after he went into acute kidney failure. It was during this time that I found a college that offers scientific illustration courses and a BA within the study with the promise of employment in the 93% range.

So for this new year, I am going to dedicate myself to getting into this program and to also continue working hard on my graphic novel. It has been a struggle with everything that life has thrown our way, but I am willing to endure and move forward to attain my goal and make a life for myself. For now, I will try to upload some of my portfolio pieces after I send off my application this month. I hope you all have a wonderful new year, friends and followers.
